The design process starts once your appointment is booked.
The design process is half the work. Most of the time, it takes longer to draw a piece than to tattoo it. This is because as we design, we make sure every mark and line is exactly where it needs to be.
We will draw out the rough sketch, shade it (if shading is needed), erase or add parts. Look at the picture from a different perspective, erase and add again, repeating the process until the art work is refined and perfect. All the while, planning how each element will be tattooed on skin, and making sure the piece will heal and age well.
Let me take you step by step through my process.
Creation Starts with You
Every custom design art work starts with your request. As a client you would have an image of what your looking to get. When filling out a request form, you are trying to tell us what that image looks like with description and reference pictures.
Sometimes a client will have a very clear image, and the description will be very precise. And at other times, a client will have a faint image, and knowing the artist’s style, they have the confidence in giving the artist more creative freedom.
Both are great places to start!
Detail request
Describe your desired tattoo as best as you can. If there are specific elements you want in your tattoo, please do include it in the description.
Example: I would like a peacock with enso circle tattoo. Peacock will be in microrealism, enso circle will be in brush stroke style with diamonds and square geometrics and paint splatters around it.
Size: 7 to 10 inches
Placement: Spine from the neck down.
References: Please provide 1 to 4 pictures to show the image you have in your mind. You can provide photographs, artwork, tattoo work.
Note, I do not do exact copies of any art work or tattoos. References are meant to show style, pose, similarities to image you have in mind. Due to copyright infringement, and as an artist with individual style, I will can offer my take on your request.

Creative Request
Another way to submit a request is to give the artist total creative freedom. This option is great if you have been following the artists’ work for a while and have total faith in their artwork.
How this work is a client would give the artist a subject with minimal description, the placement and size.
Example: I would like a peacock with geometrics and splatters around it on my forearm, at around 5 to 7 inches. The theme is creativity and beauty.
The client would provide a photo reference of the peacock to show position but otherwise everything else is up to the artist.
Flash Request
Flash tattoos are art work already made by the artist. These are great for clients who find a piece of art work that really resonate with them. This request also works very well for clients that don’t have any specific idea in mind.
As an artist, I love it when my clients take one of my flash pieces. I designed them because those are artwork i really want to do. For that reason, Flash tattoos are usually cheaper than custom tattoos.
Flash tattoos are sold as they are, and there are no changes allowed for this type of request.
