I came to Paris to steal from the masters and here is my haul… 🥰 #paris #artist #artstudy Starry Night by Van Gogh Fun fact: the invention of photography helped change the course of painting. When cameras could capture the visible world, artists began exploring what painting could offer beyond realistic representation. Rather than hiding every brushstroke, the Impressionists embraced loose, visible marks to capture fleeting light, colour and atmosphere. The goal wasn’t simply to paint what they saw, but how the world appeared to them in a particular moment.  Van Gogh later took expressive brushwork even further, as part of Post-Impressionism. The Thinker by Rodin This statue was originally created as part of a much larger work called The Gates of Hell, inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. Originally titled The Poet, it represented Dante sitting above the gates, contemplating the circles of Hell and meditating on the poem he was creating. Almost as if he were pondering his own creation. The figure was eventually separated from the larger work and became the independent sculpture we know today as The Thinker. Rodin worked with bronze, a material that offers an entirely different relationship with light from marble or plaster. Its surface can develop different colours while its contours catch highlights and its recesses deepen into shadow. And I think that’s part of what makes this sculpture so compelling. The tension isn’t just in the pose. It’s in the way light moves across the body, revealing some forms while allowing others to disappear into darkness. Notre Dame Other than studying paintings and sculptures, I have an obsession with architecture. Especially cathedrals. To me, they are works of art in themselves. They tell us so much about the people who came before us, what they treasured, what they believed in, and what they were capable of creating. Imagine dedicating generations of craftsmanship, resources, and human effort to building something that would outlive you by centuries. There’s something extraordinary about that. A visual guide to my tattoo work. My work moves between fine line, soft realism, illustration, colour and conceptual design, but the underlying approach remains consistent: controlled detail, intentional negative space, softness and composition. I don’t see these as separate styles as much as different ways of working within the same visual language. #vancouver #vancouvertattoo #vancouvertattooartist #finelinetattoo #finelinerealism COLOR & SOFT REALISM Soft realism with a fineline foundation, using controlled shading and selective colour to create dimension without overwhelming the skin. I like realism to remain light, delicate and breathable rather than heavily saturated. SOFT REALISM PORTRAITURE A flash design exploring fantasy portraiture through soft realism. I wanted the figure to retain realistic facial structure and dimensionality while using flowing elements and delicate linework to create an ethereal angel wings. CONCEPTUAL FINELINE & GEOMETRY I use geometric elements as a framework rather than decoration. This helps create structure, rhythm and movement around the subject. It allows natural imagery and more abstract elements to exist within the same composition. BLACK & GREY MICROREALISM Fineline realism doesn’t have to mean sacrificing depth. I use very controlled tonal values, texture and scale to create detailed imagery while keeping the overall tattoo readable with room for aging on the skin. COLOR FINELINE & ORGANIC FLOW Colour can be used selectively to guide the eye rather than fill the entire composition. I combine delicate botanical linework with soft colour and flowing elements to create movement while preserving negative space. FINELINE & ILLUSION A more playful side of my work. Combining colour with fineline elements, movement and optical illusion. The goal is to make the subject feel as though it extends beyond the main focal point. ORNAMENTAL CONCEPTUAL FINELINE Ornamental elements can provide structure and symmetry while still leaving the composition open and light. I often combine these with realistic or symbolic imagery to create something personal rather than purely decorative. MINIATURE FINELINE ILLUSTRATION I lo

Beacon - Montelbaanstoren, Amsterdam During one of the worst periods of my life, I used to sit in front of this tower for hours. I would look at it and remind myself that even through times of war, loss, and change, we endure. And that one day, somehow, we find our way forward and rebuild anew. The Montelbaanstoren was built around 1516 as part of Amsterdam’s defensive line, protecting the growing city from attack. As Amsterdam expanded, its purpose changed. It was lowered, rebuilt, given a new upper structure and spire, and eventually became part of the city it had once stood to defend. Centuries later, it is still standing. Not untouched. Not unchanged. But standing. And I think there is something beautiful in that. Beacon is about endurance.
